Bob Adams

From IFWiki

Bob 'Amster' Adams was a British text adventure author and magazine contributor in the 1980s and 1990s.

As Amster Productions, Bob wrote the comic text adventures Helvera: Mistress of the Park and Grue-Knapped! using ADLAN for the Amstrad CPC. They were first published by Atlas Adventure Software and later WoW Software.

Both games were later converted to other other formats. The Spectrum versions were produced by Larry Horsfield using the PAW and sold by FSF Adventures. The TADS (Amiga and PC releases) were produced by Neil Shipman and sold by Fictitious Frobshire. Bob himself ported Helvera to the Amiga, Atari ST, and PC using AGT; also releasing a cut-down demo version.

Bob had some involvement in the mysterious game Once a Knight is Enough, written for the Amstrad CPC with ADLAN. He produced a greatly expanded version Ken Bond's The Test for Amiga, Atari ST, and PC using AGTBIG.

Bob Adams also wrote columns on adventure games and public domains software for magazines such as Amstrad Computer User and CPC Attack. He was a regular contributor to fanzines such as Adventure Probe and The Adventure & Strategy Club.
