How It Begins
It's December 1990 in Columbus, Ohio. You might be anyone, empty-handed. It's been too long since you've seen your old friend John Baker, so you drove up to Columbus to sample the bars with him. But after he fails to show up the pizza place you were to meet at, you drive to his home to see if he left a note or something for you.
John's front door is unlocked, so you let yourself in, but he doesn't seem to be home. You end up falling asleep in his living room. Now morning, a terrible snow storm is raging outside. The huge snowfall has trapped you in John's apartment, and he's still missing. Exits from John's pigsty of a living room lead north and south, and stairs lead both up and down.
