I do think that this game is "Polite". The definition is: "can get stuck or die, but it's immediately obvious that you're stuck or dead". Death without prior warning fits within this description. VictorGijsbers 05:45, 31 August 2008 (PDT)

I agree that this game is "Polite". I created the article with that classification after playing the game and carefully reading the cruelty scale. The sudden deaths are jarring, but they don't force one to replay large sections of the game (which seems to be the main measure of the cruelty scale). I'm changing this back. On second thought, this game isn't quite polite after all because you can not find the gun early in the game and walk into a gunfight later on, with no way to return to the room containing the gun (because of the lack of properly working exits). If you don't happen to stumble across the gun in the beginning, you won't know that you're lacking anything vital until your in the gunfight. Incidently, I think you can win the game without entering the gunfight, but there really isn't any warning that you're entering one, so I guess we do have a case of IF cruelty.
