Talk:How to edit ifwiki

From IFWiki

This is the talk page for How to edit ifwiki. See How to edit IFWiki to find out about using talk pages, and editing the wiki generally.

Is this page really necessary, when there's already the Help:Editing page? (Note: How to edit ifwiki could still be a redirect to Help:Editing.)

I know that latter page is far from perfect -- it often mentions Wikipedia instead of IFWiki -- but I think it'd be easier to modify it than starting a new help page from scratch.

Another advantage of Help:Editing is that there's always a link to it ("Editing help") when we're editing a page. --Eriorg 04:50, 11 January 2009 (PST)

  • I have to agree with you, Eriorg. It would be much better to fix the existing help page than starting from scratch. (Also, it irks me to see 'ifwiki' instead of 'IFWiki' in the title, but that's a minor point.) I don't see that a redirect gains us much; I'd rather just point Ron to the real help page, and then delete this one. I'll edit Main Page slightly so that there's a link from Main Page to Help:Editing too, in case he looked there, didn't see anything, and assumed there was none. -- David Welbourn 05:48, 11 January 2009 (PST)
