How It Begins

You are given various options, including turning off colour, practising on the putting green or driving range, reading the prologue, or starting a new game.

You are Ned, an unpopular desk jockey at Cascade Mountain Plumbing; this is the first time you've been invited to play golf with the guys, and you're convinced that this is the first step to popularity and success. You're on the first hole of a 9-hole course, with your co-workers Ed and Fred, your boss Ted, and Skippy the caddy. You are carrying nothing, but Skippy has your golf bag, containing various clubs.

Notable Features

  • Heavy use of Z-abuse to create an aiming/power system; the player must react quickly to make a good shot. Until one gets used to the system, one tends to play poorly; this encourages multiple play sessions.
  • Expresses score as a golf scorecard, always visible in the menu bar.
  • A great many multiple endings, dependent both upon the player's performance and that of the NPCs.
  • The game makes a claim (intentionally transparent) to be a production of the fictional commercial-IF company Textfire.
