How It Begins

You might be anyone, carrying nothing. You wake up in a strange room with gold walls, a blue floor, and a blue door to the west. You don't know how you got here. You want to find the way out.

Notable Features

  • Letterform geography. In this game, the "maze" is in the shape of the letter "M". (For other games with letterform geography, see ADRIFT Maze (Mystery; 2004; ADRIFT) and Letters from Home (Roger Firth; 2000; Z-code).)
  • Most puzzles are optional. Points may be awarded for doing unessential actions.

Trivia and Comments

  • Several references to the University of Michigan. For example, blue and gold are the University of Michigan's colors. Also, the M-shaped maze itself suggests the university's M logo, which stands for Michigan.
