Cache

A cache is a location in the game, chosen by the player, where he or she stores the bulk of their inventory items when unable or unwilling to carry them all. A cache is usually only necessary when there's a large number of rooms, lots of portable items, the player character has a carrying capacity and there's no player's holdall.

Ideally, one should pick a room that is centrally located within the game's geography, lit, and ignored by non-player characters. (You don't want thieves stealing your stuff.)
