Amusing things to do (at least to me)

Not endorsed by Emily Short herself (but almost, because she keeps track of your specific acts).

Spoiler warning: Story, puzzle, and/or ending details follow.

Did you try...?

  • setting the repulsion of the float unit in order to float a few inches (that is, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or even 7) off the ground?
  • bowing to heressas? And smiling at them?
  • wearing socks in public?
  • taking off your socks in public? And taking off your shoes? And taking off anything wearable?
  • eating anything in public?
  • bowing to Aylene? And kissing her? How about kissing anyone?
  • tasting anything uneatable in public?
  • dropping something in front of someone?
  • giving or showing the floatpoints to Liam?
  • smelling the crowd?
  • wearing something wet?
  • showing food in public?
  • wearing a crumpled clothes article?
  • jumping over the water for the second time? (What a showing off!)
  • showing the activated widget to something? And doing it for the second time? And doing it for the third time? And doing it more than three times?
  • singing in front of the crowd? And doing it when you are on the dais? And doing it when the Colonist is singing the song of Peter Long?
  • stabbing/attacking/cutting the mouth/heating system? No? Good. Then don't do it, since you don't need it. Remember: violence isn't the answer to this one.
  • raising your eyebrows (austerely) at heressas?
  • throwing something at the bracket?
  • walking in the receiving room... in barefoot? And doing it shod?
  • wearing that pair of cute fuzzy bunny slippers?
  • having sex with the female scientist? (!)

Conundrums

The author kindly answered them.

Spoiler warning: Story, puzzle, and/or ending details follow.

Ethnology

  • Why are you not supposed to show the widget off?
It's in bad taste. The widget was made to allow you (as a human) to have the same knowledge of your changing social status that the colonists have natively. All the same, they rarely talk openly about these status cues, and it embarrasses them when you draw attention to the system. -- Emily Short

Xenolinguistics

  • What does ayamet mean?
It's a polite term for a male person in this society. -- Emily Short

Privacy

  • You don't know the name of the female scientist.
I don't think it's given anywhere in the game. -- Emily Short
