This article is about the player-character's possessions and the command. For the game by Christopher Armstrong, see Inventory (game).

The player's inventory consists of the objects in the player-character's possession at any given point in the game. Sometimes the game contrives to limit the player's inventory to prevent the player from carrying more than a certain number of objects.

"Inventory" is also a command that (in most games) lists the objects in the player's possession; shorthand for take inventory, it is conventionally abbreviated to I.
