Paul J. Furio
Paul J. Furio is the author of Splashdown, the 8th place winner of the 2004 Interactive Fiction Competition. His first exposure to Interactive Fiction was the Infocom game Planetfall, authored by Steve Meretzky. In college in the early 90's, Paul discovered the Inform language and library, but it was not until 2004 that he decided to attempt his first full length game, which became his entry to that years Competition.
Paul holds a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY), and is currently employed as a Lead Software Engineer at the Seattle branch office of Playdom, a leading Social Games Developer. Paul has previously been employed by Microsoft, in the Casual Games Group and Xbox group, as well as several other Seattle area game development houses. Paul has shipped over half a dozen commercial game titles in his professional career, including the XBox racing game Forza Motorsport and the massively multiplayer live game show Xbox 360 title One vs. 100. He currently resides in Seattle, Washington, with his wife Mary.
