This page collects information about Emily Short's Floatpoint. I personally found out the details, and as such, they have never before been released on any website at the time of its inclusion here.

Errata sheet for the walkthrough

This is my errata sheet for the walkthrough that comes with the IF Comp 2006-version (that is, release 1). As far as I know it is comprehensive.

  • Where it reads THANK LIAM. E. N, should read THANK LIAM. N.
  • Where it reads ASK PAMELA ABOUT THE PROBE. OPEN PROBE, should read OPEN PROBE. ASK PAMELA ABOUT THE PROBE.
  • Where it reads UNSCREW DRILL. GET DRILL. ASK PAMELA ABOUT THE CHART. SAY YES. SIGH, should read ASK PAMELA ABOUT THE CHART. SAY YES. SIGH. UNSCREW DRILL. GET DRILL.
  • Where it reads READ MESSAGES. READ RE HELLO, should read READ MESSAGES. Z. Z. Z. Z. Z. Z. READ MESSAGES. READ RE HELLO.
  • Where it reads X DISK. X BAG, should read X DISK.
  • Where it reads GET ALL FROM CHUTE. OPEN BAG. LOOK IN BAG. X RECEIPT, should read GET ALL FROM CHUTE. X RECEIPT.

Amusing things to do (at least for me)

Not endorsed by Emily Short herself (but almost, because she keeps track of your specific acts).

Obviously spoilerful: Plot details follow.

Did you try...?

  • setting the repulsion of the float unit in order to float a few inches (that is, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or even 7) off the ground?
  • bowing to heressas? And smiling at them?
  • wearing socks in public?
  • taking off your socks in public? And taking off your shoes? And taking off anything wearable?
  • eating anything in public?
  • bowing to Aylene? And kissing her? How about kissing anyone?
  • tasting anything uneatable in public?
  • dropping something in front of someone?
  • giving or showing the floatpoints to Liam?
  • smelling the crowd?
  • wearing something wet?
  • showing food in public?
  • wearing a crumpled clothes article?
  • jumping over the water for the second time? (What a showing off!)
  • showing the activated widget to something? And doing it for the second time? And doing it for the third time? And doing it more than three times?
  • singing in front of the crowd? And doing it when you are on the dais? And doing it when the Colonist is singing the song of Peter Long?
  • stabbing/attacking/cutting the mouth/heating system? No? Good. Then don't do it, since you don't need it. Remember: violence isn't the answer to this one.
  • raising your eyebrows (austerely) at heressas?
  • throwing something at the bracket?
  • walking in the receiving room... in barefoot? And doing it shod?
  • wearing that pair of cute fuzzy bunny slippers?
  • having sex with the female scientist? (!)

Plot details end here.

Conundrums

Still unsolved.
