I take issue with much of this article.

- An acronym for "Adult Interactive Fiction" that implies the game deals with adult themes or situations.

The genre should perhaps be redefined to "Erotic Interactive Fiction", but drugs, adult language, and violence have long since fallen by the wayside as purely "Adult" entertainment. The "adult" label doesn't imply (as stated) adult themes, it is almost strictly adult, in the last format that is adult: hardcore sexual interaction.

- ... and AIF authors rarely post to rec.arts.int-fiction ...

Complete and unbstantiated falsehood. AIF authors are often considered pariahs of "mainstream" IF, and often modify their code to fit the content of non-AIF. The author isn't part of the AIF community, and cannot know whether or not AIFers are posting to raif. I have been, under different names, for years.

- Much of it contains little in the way of literary interest.

There recently have been a few games which include homosexual male content, and a few that had some scenes of this nature. This author was working from an incomplete source.

This article should be rewritten by someone who is a member of the AIF community, and can be objective. I nominate A. Bomire, BBBen, A. Ninny, Purple Dragon, Knight Errant, or any number of others. These are the few that come to mind. I feel that this article misrepresents AIF in general, and contains some outright fallacies.

I'm not interested in painting AIF in a "good" light, just one that is accurate. It's a community of people who enjoy playing and writing erotic, if not downright pornographic, games - and the majority of the people who contribute to the community are interested in writing good fiction as well. -- Miscreant 02:10, 27 December 2007
