Some more info, which probably is too trivial to actually go in the article, on the compass rose in "A New Life"
- The color of the central character can change with the status of an item that one may acquire during the game.
- The lack of up / down room connections in the game is partly a reaction to the inelegance of what that would do to the compass rose.
- There is one other situation where characters in the compass rose can change to represent things that the player can see in the distance; that situation mirrors the one with the mountains at the start of the game.
