Roberto Grassi organized this new incarnation of LOTECH Comp. The main rule from LOTECH Comp 2001, requiring a multiple choice command parser, was kept. The requirements to join Suite 101 or use a Windows-compatible authoring system were dropped. Other rules, obviously borrowed from The Annual IF Competition, were added. Full details of the 2005 competition can be found at Lotech Comp 2005 - Rules.

The official judges of the comp were Dan Shiovitz, Jason Dyer, and Roberto Grassi. The game submission deadline was midnight, June 30th, 2005. While at first it seemed as if there were no entries, one game had been sent and not received. It was re-sent, and on July 10th, this game was declared the winner.
