Hey, there CANNOT be two different IFIDs for Aayela. Only one. Read on how IFIDs work, please. -- David Welbourn 21:46, 20 September 2006 (EST)

  • Sorry for that, David. Just to set matters straight then - for IF Comp games, should we get the IFID for the original release and not the post-competition one? -- Isxek 12:48, 24 September 2006 (EST)
    • I have not read the rules on determining IFIDs, so I can't answer that. I assume that the IFID would be based on the earliest known release of a game, but I don't know that. All I know for sure is that an IFID uniquely identifies a game, that new versions of a game must have the same IFID as the old versions. -- David Welbourn 15:11, 24 September 2006 (EST)
    • I stand corrected. David, your assumption was correct. Here's a quote from Revision 7 of the Babel Treaty (section 5.5.1): Note that there _must_ be at least one IFID: this may, of course, be an MD5 checksum. With all new IF projects, a design system should supply one and only one IFID. Subsequent releases with bugs fixed, etc., will have the same IFID as the first-published story file. -- Isxek 17:28, 25 September 2006 (EST)
