Adventure International
From IFWiki
Company founded by Scott Adams to market his interactive fiction games. Adams seems to have released the first commercial computer game ("Adventureland") in 1978, promoted through a tiny advertisement in a computer magazine. While Adventure International's games were textually sparse and occasionally unoriginal, the genre as a whole benefited from the company's experiments with a wide variety of settings. The company went bankrupt in 1985, one of the many victims of changing market conditions and software piracy. (See Scott Adams Speaks at UWEC English Festival (2001).)
