Cave crawl
From IFWiki
A game that emphasizes exploration and treasure-hunting, typically expecting the player to solve puzzles in order to gain access to new items and areas.
The first IF game, Colossal Cave Adventure, the popular Zork series (which featured the "Great Underground Empire"), and Scott Adams's Adventureland are all cave-crawl games. Gregory Yob's Hunt the Wumpus (1972), while not interactive fiction, is a battle with a cave-dwelling beast; it and Adventure were ubiquitous on computer networks from the mid 70s on.
The term has generalized enough to apply to a treasure-hunt in any setting, but the more specific "dungeon crawl" is properly applied to fantasy-combat settings.
