About Ninja II: I think the "II" can be considered as a version number and the real title should be Ninja. A bit like, for instance, the "real" title of Internet Explorer 4 or Internet Explorer 7 is actually just Internet Explorer. The IF Comp site used the title "Ninja v1.30" for the 2004 version, by the way. --Eriorg 10:49, 30 December 2006 (EST)
- Well, I need an actual rule, I think, if only because there's a similar issue with Moments Out of Time vs. Moments Out of Time (Adventure Type). It seems to me that the page that documents both oughta be Moments Out of Time, yes? I think there'll have to be a "base name" rule just before the rule where the name changes more significantly. -- David Welbourn 12:12, 30 December 2006 (EST)
Typos in Banner and Version text
This page seems to say that we should use the banner (and version) title; but what do we do when there's an obviously unintended typo in that title?
For instance, Mon voisin est un gros scarabée's banner/version title is Mon voisin est un gros sacarabée (the game is Speed-IF, made in 2 hours or not much more), but it would be so ugly to keep such an obvious typo! --Eriorg 04:11, 16 August 2008 (PDT)
- Personally, I don't want to second-guess what an author meant to do, especially in a language I don't know. I'd prefer to document things as they actually are, warts and all. That said, note that the author's wishes rule trumps every other rule. If you're quite sure that the author would prefer that the game was documented without the typo, then you may document it without the typo. -- David Welbourn 07:42, 16 August 2008 (PDT)
