The third Spring Thing was organized by Greg Boettcher. Note that the 20-entry limit rule was dropped; any number of people were permitted to enter the competition.

• Intents accepted between noon EDT, September 30, 2004 and noon EST, March 15, 2005.
• Submissions accepted between noon EST, March 1, 2005 and noon EST, March 31, 2005.
• Games were released on March 31, 2005.
• Voting deadline: midnight EDT, May 1, 2005.
• Results announced: May 2, 2005.
