How It Begins

You are "Packrat", an adventurer sent to a castle full of sleeping nobles and unguarded loot to wake the Princess. Oh, sure, some prince finally managed to part the cursed brambles surrounding the castle, but where is he now? And repo giants are rumored to be on their way; the king took out a hefty loan years ago. So: dangerous mission time.

You're on the path through the brambles, wearing your battered pack "Old Faithful" which contains a faux brass lantern (a collectible!), your doorknob collection, a trusty rope (actually clothesline, good rope is expensive!), a discarded sleeve (a bargain!), and a blanket (mauve plaid, but you got it on a 'two for one').

And what's this? Your discerning eye spots a discarded tin beerstein on the path. Hmm... maybe you should leave that alone.
