Paul O'Brian is an interactive fiction author who has won several awards for his work, as well as an Interactive Fiction theoretician and reviewer.

- Wearing the Claw (1996; Z-code). IF Comp 1996: 8th place.
- LASH -- Local Asynchronous Satellite Hookup (2000; Z-code). Nominated at the XYZZY Awards 2000 in four categories, including Best Game.
- Earth and Sky (as "Lee Kirby"; 2001; Z-code). IF Comp 2001: 8th place.
- Earth and Sky 2: Another Earth, Another Sky (2002; Glulx). IF Comp 2002: 1st place. Winner of Best Use of Medium at the XYZZY Awards 2002, and nominated for five other categories, including Best Game.
- Luminous Horizon (2004; Glulx). IF Comp 2004: 1st place. This is the third installment in the Earth and Sky series. Finalist for Best NPCs and Best Individual PC (Austin) at the XYZZY Awards 2004.
