Erins
From IFWiki
The Erins is a yearly AIF competition, very similar to the XYZZY Awards, except for Adult IF games. It is also called The Adult Interactive Fiction Awards, or AIFAs; see The Erins history page.
As currently structured, eligibility for the Erins is for AIF games released in a twelve-month period from November 1st to October 31st. For example, AIF games written from November 2006 to October 2007 will be eligible for Erins 2007.

- Erin VS Erin - An alt.games.xtrek thread in 2002, begun by Wotan-Anubis, explaining that his game The Diary and its lead character, Erin, was written in response to The Gamma Gals (Christopher Cole) and its Erin character. During the course of this thread, "The Erins" won the poll (held on the AIF Archives) for the name of the then new AIF awards. The runner-up name, "The Adult Interactive Fiction Awards", was also adopted at the same time.
