Steampunk

The steampunk genre is characterized by an anachronistic setting based on exaggerated versions of late 19th/early 20th-century era technology such as steam engines, Babbage computers, telegraphy, and zeppelins, sometimes incorporating elements of mysticism or magic. Steampunk works may be set in an alternate history or an entirely original setting. Stories set in the real world around the turn of the 20th century, and focusing on the technology of the period, may also be considered steampunk.
