There are two Curveship systems by Nick Montfort. For the JavaScript version, see Curveship-js.
Curveship-py is an authoring system by Nick Montfort, released in February 2011. Its distinctive feature is its unusual degree of control over the narrative text. Events in a Curveship story can be told in any order, from different characters' perspectives, in flashbacks, and so on. This extreme flexibility is made possible by firstly encapsulating all changes in the game world within actions; and secondly, by using several placeholders, or substitutions slotted within every text string, to mark all the places where the text may vary and how.
