Rebot is a bot that executes a regular IF interpreter (e.g. frotz, glulxe, arun, scare, etc.) by network. By now modules for IRC, ifMud and jabber are available and it is possible to write new modules for other network protocols (aim, msn, etc.). Rebot works by getting the plain text output from the interpreter and passing it to the network protocol (for example in IRC to a channel), and the same with the input from users in the network to the interpreter.
Rebot is entirely written in Perl language by Enrique D. Bosch (a.k.a. "presi") and is suitable for interactive testings, public demos of new games, teaching newcomers how to play, etc. And it is free software with all sources available under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
