The brass lantern has been an enduring icon of interactive fiction ever since it was introduced in Adventure and Zork I. It was our constant companion in many a game, providing light to combat the darkness, warding away those lurking grues, and helping us solve various light puzzles. Cave crawls may no longer be in style, but we continue to remember the brass lantern with the Brass Lantern website and the upcoming Get Lamp documentary.
Previous features: RomanceNovelComp, French Games, Golden Banana of Discord.
XYZZY Awards 2006 has concluded!
Winner of Best Game of 2006 is The Elysium Enigma (Eric Eve; TADS 3)A big round of applause to all the winners!
